What finally breaks through is not the quality of the argument. It is the persistence of the relationship.
The person you're trying to reach isn't reading this book. They're inside something. And approaching them without a clear understanding of how high-control groups hold on can make things worse.
The shallow answer is that they're broken, or credulous, or weak. That answer is wrong, and the person you're trying to reach can hear it in your voice.
